I'm reading 'Life after Doom' because of you. And taking notes and making a project of it. Not much opportunity to hold placards and chain myself to trees, and I think I'm too much of a wuss these days, and have an ageing husband and a dog who need me, and plenty of other doubts and excuses, but no excuse not to educate myself at least, and occasionally that does lead to actions and conversations.

Your work always motivates and inspires me.

Love the emotional support here!!! I had a bad day recently – made poor decisions – wanted to really give up… As I’m working through that – over weeks – with lots of people who care about me professionally and personally – I’m a mess and writing this makes me cry – I was told it’s okay to have a bad day. :)

That meant a lot!

It was also suggested, maybe I should take a break form the climate change book club (maybe I’m taking on too much emotionally – too much doom and gloom – more than one can hold) and it helped me to consider it… for a hot second… and say, “I can’t do that. That’s where I’m doing the most good.” That’s where I’m really helping people by sitting with them, discussing scary things, finding solutions, supporting folks in person in a public space. A safe space. What if they need me there? One time they reeeally needed me there.

I try to ‘talk less and smile more’. Intentional listening is cool. And kind. :)

Your’re so right! We do keep reading and writing and creating to be ready for that kind conversation, that moment, that project, that contract, that grant. I’m realizing that relationships are what matter most when building a better future. They sustain us. When we are not alone, and not afraid, and know folks care, we can change the world.

I’m so glad you’re back Isabelle. Finding Sanity in my inbox makes me so happy. :D

Ahh Sidney sending love! We do have to take breaks to recharge batteries that we use to do all of this climate crisis thinking. It's a lot to take on!!!! I've been finding ways I can break it down piece by piece to become a lot more manageable! If saving the world can ever be managable lol!!

Thank you :D I am hoping to write more now. I've carved out Tuesday mornings to write with a co-working session in my local community place so I am hoping I can write more I've missed it a lot :)

Awww, thank you, Isabelle. I am well. I promise. I get it. I think. :D

So, like, the climate mental health space isn’t really a contract to be won?? Not a grant to be secured. It aint’ no golf tournament!! :D It’s a constant. It requires self-care (still new to my vocabulary, not kidding), being there for others, and not burning out.

It affects all of us – whether we choose to admit it, embrace it, or deny it <you might be surprised how much I still run into the last one> – and it is never going away, because we are all interconnected and part of it... It is a way of being?

A way of well-being??

Maybe we can call it a team-oriented endeavor though? And I’m so glad to be part of yours. And I should stop trying to ‘win’.

Thank you for being here for us. <3 :)

I love that you are getting a workspace. Sounds so exciting and sparkly new!

I have a big meeting, in person, on Thursday. Please wish me well!!
